Zaharieva

Zara Zaharieva was born in Pleven Bulgaria and started studying the violin at the tender age of 3. There was always great music playing in her childhood and youth. From Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Janis Joplin, Yes, Chick Corea, Jamiroquai, Dave Weckl, Sepultura to Pantera, Johann Sebastian Bach and Mendelssohn, Zara was influenced by the greats from an early age. She attended music school Panayot Pipkov in Pleven where she spent her middle and high school years training in classical music, sky diving and martial arts.
Zara moved to the United States right out of high school and won a full scholarship to DePaul University and Northern Illinois University where she studied with  professor Shmuel Ashkenasi.

Zara Zaharieva has performed with the band Chicago, Los Hacheros, shared the stage with Jennifer Hudson, performed numerous times at Carnegie Hall, a Deepak Chopra convention, shared the stage with famous Latin Rock Group Mana as well as Lowen and Navarro, Kygo, Sharay Reed, Ernie Adams, Orbert Davis Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, Jazz phenom Eldar Djangirov, Gospel Legend Donald Lawrence, Cover Girls Violin Show, Guitarra Azul, Joshua Ramos, Victor Garcia, Makaya McCraven, Darwin Hobbs, Hutch Hutchinson, Yolanda Adams, Arturo Sandoval at Hollywood Bowl with Henry Mancini festival orchestra, Ray Chew, Lawrence Brownlee, Shirley Caesar, Kurt Carr, Olen Cesari, Donnie McClurkin, Richard Smallwood, Bebe Winans, Ledisi, Dionne Warwick, New Faith Church choir from Cape Town, South Africa, Avery Sunshine and many more.

Zara has recorded and arranged strings for Donald Lawrence, Robert Irving III, composed and played for Spike Lee’s movie Chiraq, Nicole Mitchell black earth ensemble, The Tv series Empire, many studio works including a Donatella Versace commercial. Zara rigorously performs and records throughout Chicago and United States and is constantly pushing her musical envelope.
